Hey james,
Who do you coach for if you dont mindme asking? I lived in Clear lake for several years and a sister of mine played her club ball there for a few clubs. I still have a few I consider pals that are STX coaches with the Dynamos Academy.
I love the little ones, keep it fun and moving and they eat it up. My daughter is a U8 and her group is outstanding. There are several in her group that are simply a joy to watch on the ball. Their coach stresses possession and high pressure.
I have a few video clips of them stringing together pass sequences well beyond their years. Traveled recently to TN for a tourney against U9s. By the end other teams parents stopped by to watch and cheer them on for the title.
Maybe i could post a clip here.
I am currently working with my sons team. They are U5 presently, no laughter please. Haha
I would love to see what is utilized leading up to the stage they are ready for the advanced stuff. Im already breaking down whats in your book and here to simplify even further to build on the bare essentials needed to begin the next stage. I have one boy who is well beyond his years physically and mentally. Man-child of sorts.
Itching for spring weather to get them back on the pitch regularly.
Jed,
I was presented with your book over christmas. OUTSTANDING work!
I am a huge fan as well. Both my children love futsal. My U8 has been training with futsal for almost 2 years now in some manner in the offseasons.
The club I coach for and they play for has just recently added weekly futsal training to our curriculum. The program begins in March. Only club in Dallas to do so as of yet. We partnered with City Futsal, who will be providing the training to our players and coaches.

Hello out there. Name is Mark and I am a coach with Dallas Kicks SC. We are a small but growing club in the DFW metroplex. All of our staff have children on the squads, son, daughter, niece, nephew, etc… Ive been involved in coaching/managing for about 17 years. I was in college and one of my younger sisters wanted to form a squad and asked if I would coach them. The football bug bit me in the ass that day. HARD. haha Ive been involved ever since. I recently was coaching a U8 girls team, but am now focused on my sons U5 squad.
People always question my sanity when I say U5, but I have a group of parents that want to see it kept fun for their kids, but at the same time see their kids learning and growing in their love of the game. My boys have a blast at each practice and the games, regardless of the scores. They are not lighting up the score board yet, not that I keep track, but they are individually growing strong on the ball and confident with it at their feet. A 5 year old that can trap with all parts of both feet is fun to watch. They play 5v5 currently and I let them freewheel it. Give general positional assignments with the understanding that I want to see them all take off and beat someone down the field.
I have been a 3four3 reader for over a year now, silently stalking the feeds, just waiting for this to open up.
