Hey Ryan, I coach a u-13 girls teams and have encountered this situation as well. I heard Brian one time in game in one of the videos shout “Take space”. I’ve started to shout this from the sidelines whenever I see the person with the ball with a clear opportunity to dribble and go forward. Over time the girls have picked up on this and whenever they see their teammate with space in front they always shout this to one another. Eventually as they move forward and defenders come to pressure them, the 2v1’s combinations start to form. Hope this helps.
Nice work Simon! Very impressive for u10 girls. I can see them receiving almost all the time across their body and even shouting direction on the field. It’s apparent through the audio that the parents are on board as well when the girls combined with attacking pattern #1. I see you lined up in a 2-3-2 for 8v8 I think thats great as well. I coach girls going to u-13 and were moving to 11v11. 2-3-2 fits in real nice with an upcoming 4-3-3. – Only encouragment I’d give you is have your left mid really backpedal and get wide when the center back gets the ball. This really stretches the opposition out. I tell my girls jokingly I want the bottom of their cleats to be white by the end of the game. All the best man!
Hello,
Just signed up as member for 3four3. My name is Justin Aguirre, I coach a u-12 competitive girls team in Miami, FL. I played college ball here in Miami at Florida International University and then got into coaching about 3 years ago. I’m a sucker for the Barca style of play and wanted to implement it into my coaching and that’s how I found 3four3. I’ve been working with my current team for about a 7 months now and were unlearning some old habits and adapting true possessional play. The road has been tough but were starting to see some fruit of the labor. Super stoked and looking forward to taking in all the content and learning from everyone here. All the best
Justin
