Congrats, I hope everything works out. I presented myself as a candidate for D.O.C at the local club, needless to say my message of intelligent football did not go well with the entrenched coaching establishment…. I had an opportunity to observe all 13 of their teams and I was able to see how consistent in their “approach” to soccer truly is…
Guess which method USA prefers?
In these tight spaces is when the rare ability take on dribblers one-one and force dangerous free kicks and PKs comes in handy. We love teaching the collective play in this country, but by the time American kid turn 17 any world-class individual abilities with the ball have all been cleansed out of their system for the good of the team…
Yankee stadium is a horrible place for Futbol. the grass is very high, the pitch is soft and the wind held up the ball as well.
Maybe due to my background my impressions are different, having already been a pro coach for 15 years. But I didn’t see much to make me a “better” coach from E-B. It was more to prepare people as trainers and in the fundamentals… I don’t believe the USA has a professional coaching track.
Was under the impression he was no longer with the academy due to sanctions against Barca…

I stopped after C, I didn’t feel I learned anything new and much of it was antiquated. Every License was essential the same as the previous one, except longer and pricier… Even more discouraging, when I originally inquired about USSF licenses they wanted to give me a “B” license based on my background and experience…
USA no longer have the biggest, fastest, strongest butches… other countries have caught up. But no one wants to change…
Japan had practically non-existent program 12 years ago, yet in that time they built a women’s game based on positional futbol (regardless of height and size) and lo and behold! they have a wc title and runners up in Olympics…
I was born and raised in Argentina. Until the age of 18 I was in two of Argentina’s largest futbol clubs academy systems. 17 operations ended my dream of becoming a professional player. I have lived in Argentina and Brazil, Wales and Catalonia. I have been coaching for 26 years, 15 of which were as a semi-pro team head coach. I am also an instructor and trainer for the last 27 years. I am involved with all 3 major youth orgs in the USA. A change in the way futbol is taught in this country is long overdue, but it must begin with an understanding of what proper futbol should look like. Having been in a professional academy I am fortunate to have a unique insight into what it takes to become a quality professional player. I don’t feel I know everything so I actively seek to always better myself. My background is financials and physics/mathematics. My biggest passion, aside from futbol and my sons, is the Cognitive Sciences. I currently coach 5 youth teams as well as evaluate talent for Clubs and train/teach fellow coaches. I am hoping to contribute as well as learn from my fellow coaches in the path to intelligent futbol. Gracias…
