Gary,
In a recent post, you said that you use mainly “rondos” to instill the technical habits necessary for possession soccer. Then, for the tactical part, you focus on one topic, whether it is attacking or defending focused.
If your focus during the tactical part is defending choreography with the forwards and two attacking CMs then do you use the same rondos, such as the 4v1 and 3v1 to teach those concepts as well?
Do your rondos become more complex to become more than just teaching technical aspects, but positional responsibilities as well? For example, the “Double Rondo” seems pretty complex and chock-full of opportunities to put the basics (e.g. receiving across your body) to the test. However, is an exercise like this just technical or do you start to put players who commonly play near one another together or make analogies (e.g. “this activity is like a scenario in the game when…”)
